From April 2018, Risbo offers a revised UTQ trajectory.Participants will start the qualification with a kick off meeting. During this meeting they will get to know the UTQ process and the other participants.
After the kick off meeting they will start an online module on the university’s learning management system. In this module they will learn more about the UTQ process and will make the first steps in creating their personal vision on teaching in higher education.
After this online module there will be three training sessions where a blended approach will be used. In the learning management system we offer a variety of videos and preparatory assignments. These assignments will be used during the training sessions so participants will get the opportunity to apply the knowledge learnt and receive both peer- and expert feedback.
The UTQ consists of two parts: (1) the educational trajectory as previously described and (2) English proficiency at level C1.
For the educational trajectory there are competences related to the following areas:
1. Development of vision on teaching and learning.
2. Design of education.
3. Delivery of education.
5. Evaluation, reflection and plans for improvement.
Participants will create Proof of Competences (POCs) for each area.
Target group and required prior knowledge
The University Teaching Qualification (UTQ) is mandatory for all teachers associated with a Dutch university. Holders of the UTQ are also recognised by other Dutch universities as qualified academic teachers. At the beginning of the UTQ track it is important that you have the basic knowledge and skills involved in developing and carrying out teaching (including creating assessment).
Apply for the UTQ
Please send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org. You will receive an appliction form.It is required to select what group (and therefore what training sessions) you would like to join. There is a minimum of four participants and a maximum of twelve per session. You will receive an automatically generated confirmation of your application. You will receive an invitation two weeks at the latest prior to the kick off meeting.
Please take into account that it is necessary that you either coordinate a course or at least have the opportunity to revise the course you are teaching. You will need these experiences to be able to prove all of the necessary competences.
