Social Inclusion Monitor

The European Council has decided in 2011 that the EU-member states have to develop a National Strategy or formulate a set of general measures to improve the inclusion of Roma.
As a result the Netherlands has developed a qualitative social inclusion monitor to monitor the positon of Roma and Sinti in in the Netherlands. The first monitor was concluded in 2013 after which a follow up was carried out in 2015. Risbo will carry out the second and third follow-up monitors in 2017 and 2019.
The main objective of the Social Inclusion Monitor is to gain insight into the living conditions of Roma and Sinti in the Netherlands. The current situation, the post-2013 developments and the 5-year projection will be examined.
At the same time Risbo will reporting about excisiting policies and measures that have an effect on the position of Roma and Sinti in the Netherlands for four consecutive years (2017-2020).
