Teaching in the International Classroom
Opdrachtgever: CvB EUR
Erasmus University Rotterdam has great ambitions in the field of internationalization. Among others, these ambitions vary from (a) setting up more international programs at the EUR, (b) creating more international exchange of students, and (c) preparing teaching sessions better for a heterogeneous group of national and international students.
In order to cope with these challenges, among others, teaching staff must be well prepared in order to conduct their courses to an international population of students. They should be able to:
1) integrate international (intercultural) perspectives in the design of their courses.
2) make constructive use of the (geographical and cultural) diversity in backgrounds of students as learning material in their courses.
3) take diverse international and intercultural backgrounds of students into account when conducting their education.
Together with other stakeholders, Risbo is developing a course for teachers which is focused on attaining above mentioned learning goals.
