Workshop The Art of Presenting
21 januari 2019The most important product
Along with new knowledge, methods and techniques, communication about science is the most important product of science. Most frequently used channels for scientific communication are 'stories on paper' (publications) and 'stories in theatre' (presentations). The impact of science therefore depends on the way we use both story and theatre.
Not all scientists however are able to use 'story' and 'theatre' very effectively making the end point of their research pale and not very interesting, although the content would deserve better. This is not strange since the topics 'story' and 'theatre' are absent in scientific education. As a rule they are used ineffectively making the impact of scientific work not as good as can be.
'The Art of Presenting Science' will make an end to that.
